| bbi (Blue Box Toys)- Elite Forces WWII -
2004 Anniversary Edition -Sergeant Roger Cooke
For its 2004 Anniversary bbi has selected to
produce a limited edition figure, depicting a WWII soldier from the
British 6th Airborne Division. The figure is named Sergeant roger Cooke
and he is a member of the 5th Parachute Brigade. Since 2004 was the 60th
anniversary of D-Day this figure is a very fitting tribute, and as the
box states it is in the Memory of D-Day, June 6th, 1944. This figure was
limited to 2004 pieces. |

Review
This is a nice figure with lots of detail and
accessories. The box has some very nice graphics with the paratroopers
dropping from the ski; and since this is a D-Day theme, I am assuming it
is June 6th, 1944.
When you open the two front flaps on the box you
get a view of the figure and its accessories safely tucked away behind a
plastic cover. On one of the side flaps there is a certificate stating
that this is a limited edition. The back of the box as a brief paragraph
on the British 6th Airborne Division AKA the "Red Devils"

| The head sculpt like most bbi figures is very nice. I
really like the way bbi sculpts and paints the hair on their figures the
multiple color shades adds a lot of depth to their figures and Roger is
no exception.
The green eyes are cool and when I looked under the magnifying glass
I noticed that they were a little bloodshot this is a nice touch. The
only thing that is puzzling me about the eyes is that they are looking
off to the left and not strait ahead, I think this makes the figure look
a little shifty but it definitely gives him character.
The figure also has a slight 5o'clock shadow and the mouth has some
nice detail with the teeth.
Overall the head sculpt has a lot of character and detail.
Unfortunately our figure's head sculpt does have one problem A paint
defect on the hair line just below the part in the hair on his left
side. In a limited run collectable figure of this caliber this is
unacceptable and Roger looses two points here for quality.

| The body is bbi's G3.5 model which is slightly larger in
the chest and arms giving the figure a more muscular appearance than
their G1 figure. I also like the fact that the hands and head from a G1
figure can be used on a G3.5 figure and vise versa.
Personally I have always liked the bbi bodies and the way the heads
are connected; they are made to be easily swapped out, this is great for
customizing. Rogers G3.5 body is a real plus.

 |
| Rogers costume has a lot of detail in it working
pockets, double stitching, the use of multiple fabrics. metal
buttons, working zippers, a mesh tank top, camouflage scarf, muddy boots
and detailed webbing with a canteen and packs makes his uniform a
winner. |
 |
| If you are looking for accessories Roger has some
goodies. He comes with a working parachute as well as packs, detailed
machine gun with ammo, digging tool, rifle with ammo and storage bag,
radio, flash light, grenades, mortars, toggle rope, two
bayonets, red beret, camouflage helmet, patches and a canvas bag.
I would also like to mention the documentation that came with this
kit for the parachute and the G3.5 body, it was great. The other
manufactures should take bbi's lead documentation is a good thing and
adds to the total experience. |

Summary:
This is a great set that offers a lot for the money,
and with all the attention to detail with the entire package I am going to
give Roger a overall rating of 4.1 (
Very Nice). I am disappointed with the paint job on our test
figure's head sculpt, this is preventing Roger Cooke from getting our
highest rating of Outstanding. Roger is
a class act and a strong recommend If you add him to your collection you
will not be disappointed.
