| Sideshow Collectables- Sean Connery as
James Bond in Thunderball
I first saw this figure at the 2004 NYC Toyfair and
decided on the spot that I had to have it, a year later Sideshow finally
released it. The Thunderball figure is available in two versions a
regular version and a Sideshow exclusive version that has a limited run
of 500 pieces. The exclusive version comes with an extra accessory a
re-breather; our review figure
is the excusive version. |

Review
James Bond Thunderball comes packaged in a fantastic box that
really adds to the whole Thunderball theme. The front cover is decorated
with the original movie poster and the back has some images of the
figure and photos from the movie. When you open the box the inside cover
has a listing of the cast and the opposite side has the figure and
accessories behind a plastic cover, that gives a full view of the
figure and the accessories.
One note our test figures box came in damaged, one
call to Sideshow and they sent our a new box the next day.

| The head sculpt looks just like Sean Connery and has
some nice detail to it especially around the eyes and mouth. The paint
job very clean and nicely done. Unfortunately, not everything is sugar
and cream with our figure, there is a mold line running up his
neck around the ear and across the head which is very noticeable; this
type of defect really is unacceptable.

| The body is a standard Sideshow figure which is very
articulate and nicely done. there were no noticeable defects in the body, and like
other Sideshow figures the detail of the hands is excellent.
.The costume is superb the wet suite is made out of leather and hugs
the figure like a real wet suit. The costume also includes shorts, swim
fins and a mask, all of them are great!! |

| There are some very unique and nicely done accessories
that come in the kit. you get aquatic propulsion dive rig, Knife with sheath,
watch, spear gun, stand and in the exclusive package you get a
re-breather. We did have a problem with the aquatic propulsion dive
rig, the paint job
was very sloppy as you can see by the photos. |

Summary:
Sideshow Collectables James Bond Thunderball is a nice figure,
however our test figure had more than its share of defects due to poor quality and
poor craftsmanship. The mold lines on the head sculpt are totally
unacceptable, especially in a limited collectors run of 500 pieces.
