Ignite Knight Hospitaller II

February 1, 2005

Ignite Industrial co. - Crusader Series - Knight Hospitalar II

This month we will be reviewing the latest from Ignites Crusader series called Knight Hospitaller II. As a reader of Classic Action Figures you probably have figured out that I am a big fan of Ignite's Crusader series and by all accounts this figure is definitely worthily of the series.

Review

The box is the high quality packing that we have come to expect from Ignight, not only does it protect the figure but it adds to its display ability.  The knights box is a book type with a picture of the figure ready to do battle on the cover. Once opened you get a view of the figure behind a protective plastic cover on the inside cove there is a history of the Knights Hospitaller. The back of the box has photos of the costume, head sculpt, and accessories.

The Head sculpt is nicely done, there were no obvious defects and the paint job was flawless. The eyes on this figure are especially well painted.

The body is a standard Ignight figure which is well articulated and solidly built. Over the years Ignite has improved the quality of their figures and  now they have an excellent product, the only complaint that I have their figures is the limited articulation of the wrist, but other than that this is a quality figure.

The Knight Hospitaller's costume is fantastic. He has a multi-layered costume that borrows from past figures with some interesting improvements. There is a outer blue tunic with the Hospitallers crest on it. the next layer is a full chain-mail suite with, leather on the palms and feet, this is followed by a grey padded tunic, white cotton under garments and leggings.
The Accessories are definitely up to Ignites usual standards "superb". This guy comes with a die-cast helmet, sword, Battle Axe, pike with flag, spurs and a plastic shield.

  Summary:

It looks like Ignite has another winner with the Hospitaller II, this is a strong recommend.
