| Gearbox German U-Boat Engineering
Officer North Atlantic 1941 Limited Edition of 2500 pieces During
the early part of WWII the German U-Boats hunted the North Atlantic for
Allied supply ships to destroy. In these early years of the war
Wolf Packs were effectively damaging the Allied supply lines and
spreading fear through out the world. As the war progressed the Allies
turned the tables and the hunters became the hunted effectively
neutralizing the U-Boat threat.
Germany's undersea fleet was comprised
of volunteers that were the best of the best that the German Navy could
offer. Gearbox with the help of Cotswold has captured a glance in to
this secret undersea Navy with their German U-Boat engineering officer.

Review
The box is very nicely done the cover has a
depiction of the figure with a U-Boat in the foreground. On the inside
of the box you get a brief history of the U-Boat during WWII and a view
of the figure. I have to admit the at this point the figure looks great.
The back cover has a view of the figure and a list of his uniform and
accessories. Their is also some preview of other Gearbox figures.

| The head sculpt is well done with no obvious defects.
The face has a lot of character and is one of the figures better
features.
The body is a classic Joe type, that is lacking in the
quality area. The arms on our test figure fell apart while removing the
figure's jacket. In general all the joints on this figure are extremely
loose and week and easily come apart.
It should be noted that the left
arm fell apart while the figure was being posed.
The hands are the bendy type that can be posed in life like
positions, this is a very nice feature but the wrist seem to be weak. |

The costume is the saving grace of this figure. He
comes with a black pleather jacket and pants with a awesome hat made of
fabric with a very detailed insignia. The boots are made of rubber and
really nothing out of the ordinary.

|
| The figure comes with a ball peen hammer, open end
wrench, scarf, and a display stand. The hammer and wrench are both die
cast and are very nice. |

Summary:
It looks like Gearbox was off to a good start with
having Cotswold design the figure, but something when wrong at the factory. The subject was an excellent choice and
the costume and accessories were nicely done. The downfall of this figure is
in the area of quality; the figure I used for this review literally fell
apart in my hands.
