Dragon Model's Olaf the Viking

February 3, 2004

Dragon Models "Olaf" The Viking

I have for a few months now been meaning to do a review on one of Dragon Models Historic Warriors series and I have to say I wish I did it a lot sooner. for our first review of this series I have selected "Olaf" The Viking.

Review

The box is a book type that is nicely illustrated with a depiction of the figure on the front and back. when you open the box you get your first look at Olaf and his accessories.

The head sculpt is nicely done, however the paint on our test piece was a little sloppy around the beard (they missed a spot), but it was within an acceptable range.

There is one really unique feature, Olafs hair comes off so you can fit his helmet and chain mail on.

One note about this figure when you look at Olaf you get the feeling he is looking back at you.

The body is a standard Dragon body and what can you say it is the standard that all other figures are judged upon. out test figure was well articulated and had no defects.

.

The costume is very nice Olaf has a full chain-mail suite that is made of rubber and is extremely detailed. He also has a grey tunic, pants and a pair of really cool shoes.

The Accessories are pretty cool there is a battle axe, sword, shield, helmet and fur lined cape.

All of the accessories were great especially the details on the helmet.

  Summary:

Despite the slight defects in the paint Olaf scores well, I definitely will be adding him to my collection.
