Its been a while since we had a vintage figure on the cover, so in an effort to remedy this situation I have selected to feature the newest addition to my personal collection. This months cover is of a vintage 1960's Captain Action with a purple suit.

In 1967 the Ideal Toy Company release the second issue of their Captain Action figure.  The second issue marked a slight change to the box; the Lone Rangers shirt was blue instead of red and there was also the addition of a flicker ring. A few of the second issue figures had a rare purple and black uniform instead of the  Captain's  regular blue and black uniform. There were very few of the purple uniforms produced and even fewer have survived the years. After a three year long search I found this guy with his purple suite in a local antique shop, after some haggling a deal was struck and he was mine.
