Well the warmer weather is here and the snow is starting to melt and that only means two things, Spring is around the corner and Spring Cleaning. You may ask so what does that have to do with Action Figures? What this means is a whole new load of treasures from grandma's  attics and Aunt Dotty's basement will be hitting the flea markets, Garage Sales, and of course Ebay. If you have a keen eye and a little luck you may find that elusive vintage piece you have been looking for.

This Saturday we had spring like weather here in NJ and I got the itch to hit the markets so I headed out to my favorite market Rt70 Flea Market in Lakewood NJ. Its not the biggest market around but I have made some of my best scores there. This trip I arrive at the market a little late and there was still a little to much snow on the ground so pickings were light, but I did mange to find one vendor selling some figures, unfortunately they were not what I was after. In an effort not to leave empty handed I did purchased a DC Batman for $4.00 I figured I can use it for Kit bashing.

Finding Flea market treasure is definitely a black art and over the years I have picked up a few tips that have helped locate some really good scores.

1) Dress the Part - Don't put on you Sunday best, flea markets are generally in open fields and your going to be walking in the sand and mud.

2) Be prepared - Take along some plastic bags, Cash, and check book; if your going in the early morning take a flash light.

3) Get there Early - Its true what they say the early bird gets the Worm, try to get to the market as soon as they open this will give you the biggest selection.

4) Keep your eyes open -Take your time and look over each table, check any boxes and don't be shy if your looking for something ask they may have what your looking for, and just did not display it.

5) Never Pay Sticker Price - In the Flea Market game its expected that you will negotiate price, just be smart about it,  if the item is rare and you really want it don't haggle so much that you loose the deal.
